Alarm Keeps Going Off!!

Deb

Woke me up 5 time during the night last night, kept an eye on it there was no one about. Has anyone had this and know why it does it? I can't keep having it go off in the middle of the night, the neighbours will go mad!!

Thanks Tim. No it wasn't windy, and it's never happened with the 182 even in mega strong winds. Slightly worried as I don't want the neigbours complaining! I will see if k1ano has an answer then, thanks :)

The alarms are pretty sensitive IME. No cobwebs in there is there? My mates alarm kept going off, for like, 2 months, and eventually we noticed there was a cobweb over one of the sensors hehe :D The little blighter was just sat there next to his cobweb - I'm sure it was laughing.

No cobwebs either, it's still clean from picking her up. I was thinking there might have been a fly or something inside the car which could have set it off, or does that seem a bit far fetched?

I tend to turn my sensors off at night now as i was getting the same problem with it going off all the time. Its pretty safe for me to turn them off as if anybody wanted to nick it they would have to move 2 cars first, which is why i don't mind turning them off.

I had this problem. The dealer adjusted the sensitivity of the sensors. Saved me from closing all the air vents everytime.

I'm taking it in to Renault next week, will see if they can change the sensitivity then. Rob, how do you turn the sensers off, I may need to do this until I can get it adusted.

If you turn the key in the ignition 5 or 6 times in succession (not so the engine starts though) shut your door, when you then lock it you should hear the alarm beep 3 or 4 times i think it is.

Hmm, ok will give that a go later. Thanks for the advice everyone :) Hopefully something will work!

Mine did the same. Lorries etc that turned the corner behind a brick wall used to set it off. They are extremely sensitive!

Funnily enough I was going to post a similar question!

I had a 182 and the alarm never went off but now if a car is going past the end of my estate with a chavvy exhaust, it sets the alarm off every time!!!

Guess I best get mine into the dealers too ha ha!

Well I've done the thing with the ignition and it beeped after so hopefully *touches wood* it wont go off during the night. Don't really like the idea of it not being enabled though so will still get Renault to make it less sensitive.

Shutting the air vents is a good thing to do too also to stop the air inside the cabin shifting, perhaps from wind as tim says, or from sound waves getting in from outside.
