Alarm & Immobiliser installed in Phase 2?

Lankan

Active Member
6 years into Vee ownership I ought to know this, but just realised that I didn't actually know the precise make and model of the Alarm and Immobiliser installed in UK Phase 2s.

I have come across this site, but not sure whether it is correct: Thatcham Alarms & Immobilisers

Is the information noted therein correct? If not, what is the correct make and model of the device(s) fitted to the Phase 2?

Thanks in advance.

Super, thanks James - will check the paperwork when I get home, but cannot recall seeing a make and model number.

Also, do we know whether there was any change to the alarm/immobiliser between models; Phase 1s, early Phase 2s and later Phase 2s?

Other than the key fobs/remotes changing, I don't recall any mention of a change but Duncan or GPH may know something.

Some info of my Phase 1

Interesting, so the Thatcham Evaluation Number (TC2 - 1143/0400) is close, but not quite the same as the one listed on the web site noted in the first post, which is supposed to have been installed in a 'Safrane with V2P' (Premier Alarm 8268).

Did you have similar documentation with your Deep Bronze?

Duncan any thoughts?

Lankan new one on me, I have never looked into it in any detail. All my paperwork for my old cars went to the next owners so I cant check.

Thank you both. I am determined to get to the bottom of this..........and realised that I hadn't mentioned Graeme in the post above.

As such, GPH, any thoughts?

Only today did I manage to get around to checking this out - both [v6plaque]002[/v6plaque] & [v6plaque]314[/v6plaque] have the same documentation (06DE1742A), which is in line with what James posted above.

GPH seems to have a different instruction manual (7887).

So yours have an older system from 2002 according to your pic and mine a later version from 2004. The sensitivity of the interior sensors on my car needs turning down which i think can be done iirc. A job for Scott at service time soon.

Interesting, so seems like the switch was made after March 2005, which is when [v6plaque]314[/v6plaque] was built.

After some digging around found confirmation of the above on Thatcham's website. Model 7887 was installed on all Renaultsports from September 2005 onwards.

Also found the following post on Clio Trophy forum: Clio 172/182 Cobra Alarm Fitting Instructions/Wiring Diagram

"These should apply to the Cobra 7897 and 7887 as far as i know they are the same apart from a backup battery inside the siren on the 7897"
