Air con service

Anything from £35 up depends on where you go. My local garage is 37.50 , other is 40 and ford garage is 65. + vat, so varies by me in Stourbridge

Does anyone have the specs for the Phace 2?
We've got a regassing station at work, but I'm not sure of the capacity of both refrigerant and oil and indeed the specs of both of them.
Are the locations in the front boot? Guessing so....
Any advice to make it as painless as possible?

135ml oil ?
R134A refrigerant ?

Well I got the thing re-gassed at ATS last week and all was well, nice and chilly.

Now the bloody things just ambient again. [smilie=icon_aaargh.gif]

Anyone know what could be wrong? A leak maybes?

Sounds like it. but a small one or the guys that re-filled it couldn't get a vacuum in the system to refill in the first place (a vacuum is needed to draw the coolant in)

The system will need to be re-filled but this time a die is needed to but put with the coolant. when its no longer cold again (i.e. its leaked out) the die can be seem with ultra violet light.

Could be a stone has hit the A/c rad?

Leaking pipe connection on the offside underneath the drivers door.

Guy reckons a plumber would be a better bet than renault. :)

Now I know why they call it 'air con'.

I've read a few topics regarding pipes failure under there. Scott fitted a guard on mine to this area, he says it prevents damage to the exposed pipes.

Think it cost about £150 and might well be a good investment.

Had a phone call from Toomey Renault, Basildon on Wednesday offering aircon service for £24.50 until the end of September if I remember correctly. Funny thing was that just an hour earlier I had bought a Groupon aircon service deal for just £19!

This is the leaking pipe. [smilie=icon_cry.gif]

How much of a ball-ache would this be to change? Quite a serious one i'm guessing?

Don't think you'll be laughing much when they come back with the price Davy !!!

Surely you'd do better getting a decent independant garage to sort it ?

Phill

An aircon flexi hose would fix that , cut out bad bit and fix hose in place. I'd say it's gonna be hundreds just for hose from renault.

Someone suggested soldering it.

That flexi hose sounds interesting. Will it cope with the pressure?
