Air Con Not Working

Hi all, anyone come across this before?

When i push the air con button i no longer get that slight drop in revs followed by nice cool air. Instead the led on the ac button just stays lit but the air doesn't seem any colder. Does this happen when the thing needs recharging? I've also checked fuses in the passenger side but i noticed there are some under the bonnet but the manual doesn't say what they are for.

Any ideas?

As the a/c radiator is at the front and pump is at the back with the engine the a/c pipes unusually run the length of the car underneath. As such the joints are prone to corrotion.

As suggested get it re-gassed. If pressure is too low the condensor doesn't come on at all, which is what it sounds like you have happening. However bear in mind whatever has caused the loss of pressure will re-occur. As such get the pipes checked or the same will happen again. Check the pipe joints between the pipes near the engine to the ones that run under the car. My car has an issue there. If they can't find the leak they can fit leak detection coloured marker in with the gas which will show the leak location with a coloured liquid!

Warning the pipes are expensive. :(

Good luck
