Well, i never thought i would own one of these for various reasons. But this one came up for sale on a forum (Some of you may have seen it up for sale) i am on and at a very reasonable price - as in i could probably easily double my money if i sold it on. But alas the other really likes it.
Its a 2011 Land Rover Discovery 4 Landmark Edition for its age its a really clean motor and importantly everything on it works just now. Missing a few trims that i need to sort etc, but other than that a good base to start with.
What i did discover after it sitting overnight it was dropped on the front passenger side, whipped the wheel off and extended the air suspension and as suspected a small whole in the airbag (which look original) with the car running it keeps it inflated etc and even at standard height it will hold air over night and not. So onto ebay and bought a pair of Brand new shocks/bags for less than £200 - not a hard job to swap out so they were ordered up and i tackled the def broke one first.
I am under no illusion with the air suspension it may need more work, but the parts are now cheap enough to easily sort - so not put off. Also just to add it has a permanent tow bar but was missing the cowling for the hook up, again this bought and fitted, no before pics but one after, much better i think.
Also to add the amount of muck that came out when i took the inner arch liner off, unreal. Anyway to change the front strut - need ot take all the sues and relay out to stop it leveling while working on it, and i may have broke the relay, still works so tapped it up just now till i get a new one. 3 x 15mm nuts at the top - 1 x 21mm head bolt and 24mm nut. Once dropped enough the 12mm to take the airline out. then just pull the strut out, fitting is reverse.
Anyway - Some Pictures.
And then a final one, anyone in the know what this black cover is on the pipe, i thought it was the AC fill point, but take it off and its open ended.
