Aftermarket Warranty

Warranty direct seem to have a good rep on tyresmoke and are easy to negotiate with (BTW I am in no way affiliated to them)

Suggs, had a quick look through that site and it looks pretty decent. Although I don't confess to knowing much about extended warranty etc. Have been thinking about getting an extended warranty just for peace of mind. Am i right in thinking that this warranty would cover the car at any Renault garage if something needed ot be repaired?
What do people think the main issues are that should be covered by a warranty. Mine's 2 1/2years old and never had a problem with it or missed a beat, but better to be safer rather than sorry..!

I've had a brief look at a few of these companies and my only concern is what garage they send it to. From what I can gather it isnt a Renault Dealer and personally I wouldnt want a back street garage dropping the engine out of my car....

WHAT SORT OF GARAGE DO YOU USE/AUTHORISE TO REPAIR THE CAR?

We use a network of independent garages across the UK. Each garage is monitored closely and extensive customer surveys are carried out continuously to ensure they are providing service in accordance with the required standards.

Ah!! I would be wrong then!!

I do know some warranty companies let you use any VAT registed garage!!

If I was able to take it to my choice of garage then I think it would be worth it. Top packages are normally around £300 a year and are full wear and tear. Which I like the sound of cause I'm pretty sure my clutch isn't happy.

When my Renault warranty is up in May next year I will seriously consider one of these companies. So keep me posted on what you find out.

Cheers

I suppose at the end of the day you have to have some trust in things even though sometimes this trust can be tainted.

Having the warranty gives you pease of mind providing the cover is good, any repairs done by an approved garage will have to be done to some quality standards and if they are registered and a legal entity then they are responsible for ensuring quality and safety are maintained. They will therefore need to put something right if they make an error or cause any damage - so you have protection in that sense anyway.

I have just taken out an Extra Care policy with http://www.warrantydirect.co.uk for £26 per month (annual premium was £295) , £5k per claim limit, Franchise dealer labour rates, Wear & Tear cover, plus Air Bag & Emissions cover thrown in for free (Could have had a free M.O.T next year instead). This was an end of month special offer, if you get a quote online you will pay £38.35 per month plus the cost of the Air Bag & Emissions optional extra. They're open until 8pm so anyone looking for a warranty at a good price it's worth giving them a call, the deal may be gone by tomorrow!

Defo get a warranty its worth its weight in Gold my renault warranty ran out 3 weeks before my gearbox blew 1st and 2nd gear along with the flywheel and clutch and the bastards renualt wouldnt foot any of the bill in any way.
