Aerial rubber

Sorry if this sounds like a repeat question but does anyone know how to replace the aerial itself or the rubber surround on a mK2?

I have looked in the knowledge but cannot find the relevant section, and I cannot find the answer in previous threads......

The "shark fin" type covers that fit over the whole plastic aerial (after removal of the screwed in part) could be an option but the ones I have seen do not fit the V6.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Matt

I recall a nut underneath the headlining being mentioned when mine was replaced.

Probably item 16

RADIO AERIAL RENAULT
BASE FIXING

Technical people please give your opinions.

Item 13 the aerial base for the Vee costs £130.00 which includes the perishable rubber gasket/escutcheon which many of us need to renew. The rubber gasket isn't available on its own. :( The aerial is so expensive I guess because it has pre-radio gubbins.

Now then.... The pug/Citroen base cost about £20 (without pre-radio) and it's a very similar shape to the Vee aerial base.

Would this aerial unit connect to the Vee wiring?

With sat nav/phone still only £40

This is the company who makes the aerial base for Renault

V6 Ph2 255

(A) Aerial base for “No radio telephone pre-equipment” 8200282249 £27.73
(B) Aerial base for “Radio telephone pre-equipment” 8200282254 £102.00

Are they both physically the same size and shape? (mine) LINK
The Ph2 has pre-telephone equipment as standard. LINK
Why do they even list a base (A) without?

My exact problem.

I ordered both. They are different shapes.

I ended up buying the £102 base just for the rubber and just stretched it over the original base without removing it.
I had to cut away an inner section of the rubber so it would fit over but it looked perfect when on and no need to remove (break) any trim to access the aerial mount.

Insanely expensive but it made me itch every time a washed the car....

Cheers, Matt

So if you dont have a car kit and dont plan on getting one can the non telephone base work. Just removed the parott as i couldnt hear it?

I don't know what the wiring for a standard aerial looks like, I know the aerial base footprint is much smaller, if it fits and works, I guess you could polish out the mark left by the standard aerial?
