Advice needed with airbag/service light on dash please

Hi
After having a slight bump in November resulting in the drivers side airbag deploying, I have now got the airbag and service light on. Just got the vee back today from being repaired and rang Renault to see if they could look at it to switch them off but cant fit me in until next week.

The drivers seat has been replaced, so is it just a case of getting them switched off by Renault, or Ive herd that possibly a new ECU may need to be fitted costing nearly £300??!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks, Steve.

when the airbag deployes you are to supposed to check all pre-tensioners as well.
You will need to replace the air bag ecu as well.

With out doubt Steve, give it back to the repairer..

Even if you paid for the repair yourself, avoiding any insurance claim, the repairer should still be responsible for this.

Ok cheers for the advice guys, there wasnt any real damage to the car, havnt claimed off insurance, just outta my pocket. just the drivers side wheels needed refurbing, sorta slid on ice mounting the kerb. The repair was just carried out by my friend, but just a little confused with this seat, I got it second hand from Ebay. Bit crap really, coz I only hit the kerb at about 15-20mph! So you think i need a new ECU module fitted? More expense lol. Just I sorta wanna know when I take it to Renault, saves time rather then them trying to locate the problem, which could be ages!

Cheers.

mine did the same as a past owner had put recaros in at one point and so the wiring under the drivers chair had been changed as no side airbags. If i give the tap it will go out , just a dodgy connection, so i would check the connectors under the chair first , more likely than ECU failure going on that you have just changed the chair. Cheaper too!
