Well i'm now joining you Jainy in the anti Adrian Flux group you're a member of - spoke to the most unhelpful muppet today regarding the insurance on my vee and was trying to get a limited mile short term policy for the vee which expires next month and was told ''It is not Adrian Flux's policy to offer short term policies any longer as there is no profit in it for us" even though only 3 months ago they offered a mate of mine a 6 month ''summer use only'' policy - muppets - plus they have put my premium up to over £1k even though the mileage is now limited to 3k miles per year - their excuse................................i ''wont be driving the car often enough'' and evidently when i get back in it i will be a ''liability'' even though i own a 300+bhp FRS and will shortly be picking up an Exige - muppets - phoned Competition Car Insurance who are insuring my Exige and for £200 more they will put the vee on the same policy as a 2nd car - result - told AF where they can stick their policy (politely) and have already agreed with CCI that come next April they will be insuring my FRS as well

Its a shame because AF have not done me any wrong in the last 8 years i've been with them, but after today its their loss certainly not mine :D

Unfortunately with most insurers (and many businesses) - money comes first, customer service last.

This is ironic because not many seem to realise better customer service leads to more money via loyalty and referrals etc ...

Simple economics which they just don't grasp IMHO.

Alex :s

I know your frustration hun, trust me..! The sad fact is, that AF seem to literally bend over backwards to get your policy/business to begin with and it can be a little overwhelming the lengths they 'will' go to to actually get your business (policy/price matching etc., etc.,) The issue with AF is the total lack of customer care if you need to conduct a MAC (move, add or change) to the initial policy - it's a long and tedious process, with little concern or regard for the customer in any of this.

I ended up escalating my issues to their Customer Services Director regarding their apalling treatment of customers - as a result a £25 refund against my policy.....needless to say, I never renewed....they just don't get the fundamental issue in all of this do they....THE CUSTOMER....

mines with elephant, they have been nothing but good to me recently, plenty of help changing from my cup to a vee, faxing of cover notes within a minute of asking for them, chaning of address with no charge, adding a curtesy car whilst i waited for my vee to be ready, again foc.

My renewal is due in a month so i will see what they offer. 3 ync and i will be 23 in october.

i will then (i think) start going to churchill and the likes who gaurentee to beat the quote etc

never bothered with the adrian flux type people, they never matched what elephant could

I dont know how any of you even managed to get a quote I get half an hour for lunch and spent all of it on the phone to them being passed from broker to broker. I hung up in the end and got a call back from a young lady who asked how I got on, she didnt quite know what to say once I laid into her for wasting 30 minutes of my life.
I now use a company called GSI in Rushden Northants for all my insurance home and for my cars and although there not the cheapest they are very helpful, and you always get to talk to the same guy in the UK who speaks English. He will also find some one to match your quote though.

Although I have not yet insuered the Vee through them I will be when I have refitted the new engine.

I would also like to join the Hate Flux Club

AF just sent my renewal. Up £200 despite having moved to a better postcode and having own driveway now . Only good thing is its 2 weeks before renewal so at least I have time to look around!

Blimey 2 weeks notice from AF is suprising - 2 months back my mate got his renewal info through only 5 days before they were about to automatically debit his card for his hard earned £££

when i cancelled my kitcar policy with adrian flux last month it took about ten phone calls and two letters to get my refund back. I'd never use them again. Elephant are my vee insurer and are bob on.

Final results are in....

Adrian Flux renewal £760....

Admiral quote £475....

That's a confirmed figure and takes into account all my mods, business use and my lovely young 28year old fiance....

AF say they have a price match policy - haven't tested it yet.....

And won't be!!!!

Happy, peace of mind motoring again, and cheaper than last year to bag!!!

adrian flux what a waste of a phone call !!
They meant to insure high performance car lmao! they wanted £1300 for my vee, i got it from kwik fit instead for £614 and the cheapest i was quoted was £400 ish
I won't take insurance from them even if all them dolly birds they had on sunday give me a good time
Good work Adrian flux just keep ripping off the tesco boy racers with there high performance nova's you clowns

at the end of the day he's only a broker, so the prices he come's up with arn't really his own fault...... he can only work on what prices he's been given....

i'm insured with the company and got a great deal...

Its not the annaul premium with Adrian Flux that is the issue. Watch out for their admin charges for any policy changes you make, I used to have four cars insured with them and never again! Plus I wont go into the issue when they lost my agreed value details and I had a claim. It took 6 months to get sorted with nobody taking responsibility. A cheap premium is all well and good until you have to make a claim!

Exactly how I look at it. I use a local broker, and although I still do an on line search when re-newal is up... I tell them the best quote I've had, and leave it to them to try and find me a competitive quote using the insurers available to them. They rarely beat the target, but what price can you put on peace of mind knowing you have a decent insurer and personal help when dealing with a claim.
