Adaptronic E420c ECU

although my Innovate got water damaged so "mapping" is on hold until I win a new unit on eBay.

Dave and Andy have done all the hard work getting the base settings working.
Andy ran his grey phase 1 on the Adaptronic, and it was a very potent car considering its modest spec.

yup, had one on my 5. user friendly and simple to understand, very easy to calibrate to most std sensors and if there's a prolem the manufacturer can adjust the software to suit certain appliactions, good technical support, cheaper than most other brands offering the same functions, online forum and downloadable info. dont know if you've seen this site, there's everythin else you'll ever need to go with it too

cool at least a few have tried it and its proven to be good not a bad price either.

im in talks with Chris at efi-parts at the mo about an installation for my car, just need to sort out a date to go up there.

was it mapped with the renix 208/209 module ? A friend off mine from holland use the KDFI system and there in trouble with it.

As long as you get Chris to set it up then the Adapt will do you proud .Most important to get someone who knows the system for the
initial setup .

on a normal gtt standalone is a bit ott since only the ignition can be played with, maybe a cheaper megajolt unit would be more suited. i used the volvo 1.7 turbo engine in my 5, managed a nice reliable (as in 40,000 miles of abuse) 229lbft/229bhp at 5400 revs with 22psi. personal best quarter mile was 12.6@108mph. stock engine with saab 431 injectors, n/a b18 volvo cam, t28 with .86 ex housing, large front mount, separate oil cooler. pretty simple and cheap conversion. managed to melt all 4 pistons at mallory a few years bac, turned out i'd trapped the vac pipe to the map sensor behind the dash :(
hence my thread really, cheap bolt on bits and a re-map. never going to be an amazing set-up, just simple jump in power. scoff has done some amazing work in the past so expecting some good results with a re map purely as i can only afford one adaptronic and thats for my 11. for adaprtronic uses, alot nicer maps when having to use a 3bar map sensor, with the option to use any combination of parts.

Not true. I can adjust the opening times as well as the speed of opening on my standalone megasquirt ECU.

eh? standalone can't adjust the carb so you could only use a 2d map for ignition, sure it has some gains, just alot of money to try and get every last hp from a 1.4 carb fed engine. fit some efi parts and its worthwhile, well the only way really.
dan, not a jap car, just jap bits that are close enough for a tweek to fit ;)

Aah, i see what you mean. I didnt realise the GTT was a carb engine. :frusty:

i'm talking about the gtt with EFI

dont know jo, i gave up wit the carb and cij over 10 years ago and went volvo, putting injectors on them was only a dream then lol. scoff does anything mapping related as well as havin an indepth knowledge of anything he's interested in. sure there's is a few efi ones now, i know the one that scoff mapped and had input with, had alot of money spent making it bomb proof, efi and nitrous to spool a t34, crazy machine!

right, C1J, 176 atw with GrA carb, tarabusy piston/liner set, full balanced bottom end, piper cam & springs, T28 turbo, 1.2 bar boost, used as daily. Build it 2 months ago and did the carb settings on the dyno.

And will put it on the rollers at fcs (again) just to prove that i'm (again) not full of it (LOL)
