Needed for MOT :( ..... working rear passenger side sensor... ASAP

Cheers

unfortunately, removing an ABS sensor (to save the sensor) normally means destroying the hub carrier!

Change the whole hub carrier or you'll destroy the sensor removing it. Test the sensors first see which is faulty. I Can remove sensors but it does involve destroying the hub.

I've got one sumwhere that I expertly removed without destroying the hub or the sensor....getting quite a dab hand at it now tbh!!! :P :P :P

Or go to Ford and buy one......they are the same as the ones on the Cossies. Only difference is Renault charge ?100+ each, Ford a more modest ?48+vat

If you look carefully at the connectors on our sensors it says 'Motorcraft'......and Motorcraft are Ford are they not?

If I remember rightly the ABS system fitted to the 21 Turbo was also fitted to the Ford Granada.....

who cares

i just want sensors cheap!!

si21lol granada cossie fi fecking esta 4 all i care

Roger is correct, the Scorpio seen in the advert avoiding the tractor, was fitted with practically the same system as ours.

The Cosworth was also, I'm led to believe fitted with the 1st gen Teves system....ours being second generation. Although, I dont mind being corrected on that.

Still though, its a shame Renault arent more 'backstreet garage' friendly, Vauxhall and Ford ABS systems take approx 15mins to diagnose a fault, ours, well, ours take approx 6hours......Reno made ours ECUs without RAM...meaning it never retained the fault, should one arrive. Im led to believe they were brought before an EU court shortly after this and were forced to change it. They changed it, but also changed the pins on the plugs, so yes it had RAM but still only readable by Ren diagnostic equipment.

Either way, its a false economy for m/fers to design/develop/use and maintain their own parts. At the time, Ford were leading the way with their ABS. Take the window mechs and motors, I'm almost certain you'll find them in many a Vauxhall.

Ask Skoda if they were better off being an individual company or using VW parts lol

Six hours?

Joker.

Fifteen mins diagnostic and anything from 10 mins to clean the sensors to 6 hours to change the entire ABS system :P and i'd even throw in a working handbrake  Book it in atkins, all my ABS's work :D

escort cossie has the same abs system as us not the serriea cossie also the vw passat and early golf have it too

Sure John.....

If you wanna drive the eleventy hundred miles to coventry or....cheap fix....pull the bulb out of the warning light

if you have an mot guy who's on the ball, he may notice that the ABS light doesn't come on at all, in which case just wire the ABS light up to the battery light (or oil pressure light/water over-heat light). It'll then come on with the ignition and go out when the engine starts ;)

But i didnt just say that 8)
