ABS problem

Hello!

My 21 Turbo seems to have an ABS issue.
It's not working at 100% so i get wheel blockage.

Also every time i hit the brakes, even for just a second, the electric pump starts working like if it was gaining pressure. Is this normal?

When i brake hard sometimes i get both brakes lights (red hand-brake and orange abs) flashing for 2 or 3 seconds.

This problem started when i got a leak from the rear calipers. Now that they are fixed, the problem persists.

What can it be? Air in the system?
At normal riding and normal braking no lights turn on.

It could be an intermitent fault with one of the speed sensors mounted at each wheel, mine has done it a couple of times i cleaned the sensors and the targets and all seems fine, you say the handbrake warning light comes on? this is also your brake fluid level warning as well check the level it may need topped up.
I hope this helps a bit i am a mechanic but abs is a funny thing especially as it gets older.

Warning lights.

ABS light- ABS problem, system disarmed.

Handbrake light (when handbrake off)- Brake fluid low.

ABS and Handbrake lights combined- Electronic braking system major fault, brakes about to stop working.


The buzzing is normal, its supposed to do that. The brakes are electronic assist instead of servo and the buzzing is a pressure accumilator pump storing up to 2150psi in a little black ball.

Start by topping up your brake fluid to the max line. If the problem persists, come back :mrgreen:

Thank you for your answers. The liquid level has always been over the max line. Can that cause a warning too?

No, that doesnt cause lights. Maybe when you break hard the brake pressure drops turning on the lights, or it could be an electrical short.
