6 days and now off the road

hi all

Iv'e only had my Mk 1 vee for 6 days and now its off the road :cry: :cry:

i let my mate take it for a spin in stoke on thursday night and he hit a kerb!!! Blew the front tyre out scuffed the alloy wheel and set the pasenger side air bag off :x :x . Will not know if any other damage has been done yet untill i drive it?

now looking for front wheel and tyre if anyone can help, mine has P2 18" alloys on.

i have found a place that can sort the seat out for about £200

You will need 4 wheel allignment as well???

I never let anyone drive my car not ever my girlfriend, even though she keeps moaning and wants a go!!!!
It must have hit the kurb fairly hard to set the airbag off! sorry to say but I would be suprised if nothing was bent, hopefully for you (or your mate) its not. Still would get a 4 wheel alignment done to be safe.

Something will be bent and I'd get the underside checked by someone like Scott - not a dealer.

I'd guess a strut and steering control arm as a minimum - then 4 wheel alignment.

He also has airbags and dashes in stock.

This will not be as cheap as a wheel and tyre - suggest you start opening his wallet.

Agree with Mike, you should get all the front suspension and steering checked.

Could be a bit expemsive.

yup, spmething similar to this happened to a guy on the 350Z forum, it looked like it was just the wheel, ended up being a 5k insurance job

Gutted for you mate - word to the wise - i had low speed spin in mine recently and can safely say i would doubt your damage will be limited to just wheel & tyre & airbag - as Mike T has said there will more than likely be further non visible damage that needs repairing - best get your mate to cough up tbh seeing as its his mistake

oh man, gutted to read that! nobody drives my vee,

alot of my mates have high power front drivers and they simply dont get the fact that you cant just rag it like a normal car and expect not to spin/crash/hit something/die...!!!

id be seriously asking your mate to cough up the damage! followed by a good caning in his own car!! :lol:

i hope to have the car back on the road Tuesday but just waiting for a price on a wheel from a forum member who has PM'ed me. My wheel is at a refurb place in Stoke but have told him to wait until Monday before he makes a start on it, He also says i should have back and front wheels done is it may not be a pefect paint match?

i have had a message from johnsV6 and he has a new wheel for sale to fit my car!!! But im not sure if he has received my PM back to him or not as it does not show in my sentbox, does anyone have an e mail address for him or better still a phone number???

if i get no reply from johnV6 by the morning i will have to give the go ahead for the wheel refurb man to start on my wheel as i need the car back on the road asap to check for any other damage.

I have a modified phase 1.

I also had the rear wheels done at top marques in Longton after i had my car as they were already badly curbed. They did a really good job but did not manage to get the finish exact to the fronts. You would need all 4 doing to be exact but looking at the car you would not tell unless you put the wheels side by side.

Hope everything goes well and you will be back on the road real soon.
