Here you go:

Very rare Renault build No.8221 Renault 5 Turbo 2.

Renault built 1690 mid-engined Renault 5 Turbo?s and 3180 Renault 5 Turbo 2?s between 1980 and 1986, making a total of 4870 cars. All these cars were issued with a Renault build number of 8220 and all have a Renault build No.840-B-7-30 1397cc engine fitted, except for 200 cars built from September 1984. This is No.17 of the 200 vehicles built and homologated into Group B in 1985 to allow Renault Sport to rally the Renault 5 Maxi variant (see picture).
These cars run special engines, Renault build No. C7K-A-7-00, which have a 1430cc capacity and a 7.3:1 compression ratio. Changed engine components include con-rod bolts, thicker cylinder head gasket, turbocharger, pistons and liners etc. They also have aluminium roof skins as opposed to steel.

Over the last 11 years this vehicle has been painstakingly restored and components either renewed or upgraded.

These include :-

- new replacement tinted windscreen

- new replacement battery

- new clutch cylinder

- new clutch slave cylinder

- new replacement alternator

- new floor carpets in black

- new headlining in black

- special colour coded interior clock

- period Sparco rally seats with harnesses

- new replacement Koni front dampers

- new replacement AVO rear dampers with adjustable height platforms

- new replacement Devil exhaust

- new speedo cable

- new replacement intercooler pipes

- K&N competition air filter

- Mad?in 3 piece split rim wheels with Yokohama tyres

- Twin radiator cooling fans

- Modified engine bay extraction fan

- Polished stainless steel engine bay strut brace

- Powder coated spare wheel

- Competition anti-roll bar bushes etc.

I have owned this vehicle since 9th April 1995 and the car has covered 69700 Kms. It is undoubtedly one of the best examples of this rare car available today and has won awards at shows.?14,500.00 o.n.o.

Moggy quick question for you, ahem alright long question for you lol!

My mate used to have an "odd jobs man" type job in around 89/90 gardening and most importantly cleaning the fleet of a millionaire property mogul 8) This included the following:

Ferrari F40
Ferrari 328 GTO
Ferrari Dino
Audi Quattro Sport (SWB)
Nissan Skyline GTR (The first to be imported into the UK)
Renault 5 Turbo 2 (here comes my question)
Oh and a Renault Espace for his Mrs :D

The turbo 2 was Beige and cost him 150k at the time apparently
Is this right mate as the T2 did not come in Beige! He did say it was very quick and was rally prepared, could it have been a "Maxi" or other special T2 as they did a few?

Cheers Mate, this could settle this p*ssed up argument we always have!

well for 150k it had better be a tour de course or a maxi

ask his did it have lots of lights on the front

that usually means a maxi ;)

if he says no - just 2 big round fogs in the bumper - its prob a tour de course 8221 (like the one for sale) but rally prep'd

but for that money - it better had be race prep'd
