5 GT Turbo 5 GT Turbo driveshaft thickness

Hi.
I bought new driveshafts from Youngtimers and they are not the same thickness as the ones I have right now.
Was there any design update over the years so they are thinner or was I sold incorrect parts?

The thicker shafts are oem/original gtt.

The thinner ones used to be n/a shafts but as far as im aware the thin type are the only ones available new now. Not heard of any issues with them so should be ok.

I use refurbed oem thick shafts in mine.

@Brigsy thanks. I'll try swapping the homokinetic joint and keep the oem thicker shafts or just buying a refurb kit. Honestly have no idea how to do it or if it will work out but I'll give it a try.

Stick the new shafts in and refurb the originals for later use if necessary.

I Have recently bought a skf driveshaft off autodoc that is the bigger shaft

i have nothing to add but to say "thicker shafts are better shafts"
