2004 Ph2 V6 - Acid Yellow

thanks, i did look in the info pages but there was only a reference to an ID interior.

So i guess it is relates to factory options away from the norm. On paint, i guess anything other than Blue, black and silver carried a premium as borne out by the fact that there are very few cars painted in anything other than these colours.

am still learning - what is an ID colour?
ID wheels were mooted and existed in pre-production form only.

Tell me more! ID colours as in the same colour as the body, a la 968CS/CGT, or just different colour wheels? Any pics of pre-production cars with these?

They were diamond-cut 20 spoke Mille Miglia F20 made with correct offsets.

ID colours were only introduced gradually from Spring 2004 hence fewer cars. By 2005 there were 6 standard colours and 5 ID. these went through the paint shop twice to achieve the colour and cost £1150 extra in 2005.

Still find it strange that the Inferno and Moonlight are soooo rare given that they were standard. Think the Vee looks great in both these colours.

Just to stray topic again momentarily, ive always felt the Avantime colour options sat closely alongside the V6, in terms of primary options, era, brand approach, target markets etc. Hence always been surprised/annoyed/disappointed Java green was never on the list. Feels like a deliberate decision to not include.

Perhaps one day if I do full strip respray I'll take the plunge, full on OEM+....

They were only introduced mid 2004, so the last two available colours added to the range which naturally reduced the numbers, plus I think it was quite hard to order them!

As the cars were not flying off the shelves and were a reasonably hard sell at the time dealers were keen to shift the ones they could easily get there hands on. There was a longer wait if you wanted a specific colour, or short wait (and possible a chunk of money off) if you wanted a blue one which they could get invoiced quicker. There were stories on here many years ago about people trying to order them and being mucked about or told no by the dealer.

srt40 the green would certainly be brave! The colour I would love to have seen make production was the Nocturne dark purple that was planned for the ph1 but never made it to the production line, though a 1/18 model did make it into limited production! a phase 2 in that would be great.

I saw this morning when looking at an old thread from 2008 that your car used to have yukky black wheels! Thank goodness it's back on silvers!

Love the Transporter. I’m thinking of getting one in replacement of my Disco 4. I need a van for work really, I’m looking at the 4motion

Kett The Transporter is fine as it's a dark colour and a van. :approve:
The worst possible look is a white car with black dustbin lid wheels …. oh …… [smilie=icon_eek.gif] ;)

George, I went from Disco3 to Transporter Kombi SWB. The carrying capacity is amazing and I too opted for 4motion & DSG. Overall, nowhere near as proficient as a Disco, but offers more in terms of utility.

Best of all (if you have a business) - get a T32 spec Kombi and pay the same Benefit-In-Kind for personal use and fuel as a tiny Fiat

van. Although, Simon Rustedandrotten would steer any listeners towards a LPG-converted Dodge Ram for a similar tax efficient toy...

That’s good to know. Yes it will be used for business/daily. Do you know what they are like for towing? I’ve got an enclosed car transporter that I use relatively regularly.

Been looking online. I like the spec of yours, especially the front bumper. Is that aftermarket, or what exact model is yours? Thanks

Towing capacity won’t match a Land Rover. Not much will...

FYI - I wanted a Sportline model but they don’t make a 4motion Sportline. So I bought a Highline model and pimped it to Sportline spec...
