my coils are starting to fail, replaced 2 now in the space of 2 weeks. my car has done 24000 miles. im just waiting now for the next one to fail....... my car is under warrenty but renault say they cant do any work for 2-3 weeks. funny tho i went to renault in the week and they had 2 ramps free. cant of been that bust to change a coil. to be honest id rather change them myself. 36quid a coil.

ive had 2 go on mine, both at similar mileage... 22500 and 23000

bloody anoying....

i had coil go sunday morning thats my 2nd. 04 mk2 14000 miles. very poor for a 27000 grand car. getting abit pissed off with all the little niggles

Just had two go in as many weeks at approx 24000 miles. Renault Assist sent the AA out as the car's still got a couple of months warranty remaining. Took them a while to locate the appropriate coil for a Mk 2 from one of the Renault dealers but came the next day & fitted it.
I in my wisdom(!) bought a spare not thinking another would go ten days later! Again Renault Assist sent the AA out - from failure to on the road again was 45 minutes.
Now i have to attempt to get reimursed by Renault for the coil I paid for - wish me luck!

Went to my local Renault Dealer (Drakes Shiptonthorpe E. Yorks) who were very sympathetic about two of my coils failing in a matter of two weeks. They have agreed, following replacing the two coils under warranty, that Renault will contribute 90% of the cost for the remaining four coils. With two months of the three year warranty remaining I think this is a result!

That is not fair, fit for purpose is the expression.

Under your rights they should replace all.

No argument.

Take them to the small claim courts and inform the media.

Do not submit to threats.

I had a coil go on friday :( ..AA came out and found it to be coil 3..would have been o.k if the renault dealerships would let him have a replacement..I have to buy one and claim back from renault u.k or its a trip to the dealership on the transporter..bloody ridiculous... [smilie=evil.gif]
