19in alloys on a 19 16v cab?

Hi guys,

My 19 16v cab has been sitting like a burst ball for a while due to the weather and luckily I have been able to use my girlfriends mums 4x4.

I am away to start the following work over xmas;

2 x ball joints
2 x track rod ends,
front left engine mount,
standard exhaust to be put back on due to no being a big fan of the full stainless and decat (for sale if anyone is interested?)
Speedo cable
lowering 35mm front and 50mm ish rear
lambda
plug leads

thinking of putting a set of 19's on it but don't know if they fit with 215/35/19 tyres?

Also is there more work than just swapping over a head, block, and ecu from a F7R to convert it to a 2l 16v?

If I end up loosing interest over the xmas period I might be looking for a swap for a small diesel car (to teach my girlfriend to drive). someone might be looking for a winter project? It's still taxed and tested, black, full leather, standard apart from s/s exhaust, 1 owner car 68k. Can forward pics if needed.

Cheers

18's is possible, but 19's will be damn near impossible i'd say.

if the F7R is from a clio, yes, if megane then just swap the bottom end over and get it chipped/mapped.

i think it can be done but i wouldnt recommend it, i would imagine it would comprimise the driving of the car

Cheers for that guy's, the williams clio will be the best option for the engine. 18's will probably be the most sensible choice... I remember watching that programme years ago!!

had 18's on my 1st 19 when i bought it. Rubbish. Got 15's on it REALLY felt the improvement!

mine had 17's when I bought it.. It's running 15" OZ's now - much better..

and I agree - the nicest thing in that vid was the bird ;)

Found these a short drive from my house and a roller on ebay, they might look ok after a refurb in silver.

How hard do you reckon it would be to fit them, and does anyone know where they will catch? I have a feeling they would rub on the front strut where the spring sits meaning I would need coilovers. any thoughts?

PS the birds tits were cracking ;)

Cheers

i'm not sure how they should look really. although i would recommend going one maybe 2 (at most) inches over the size, my clio was 13 now 15 and its horrible to drive, the cabby is on 17 and has definitely been effected in a negative manner

Fuck me, ive actually never seen that video. He completely bastardised that poor car, his bird has decent tits, but I think his moobs are more impressive. But yeh.... The guys a prick if im honest, and wot the fuxk is that shirt all about? Bawbag

19's were put on a saloon 19 years ago along with a garish evo 5 vent and spoiler we left them days behind . Stick too 15's best for handling . 19's would distroy handling and accerlation and waste any benfit from a 2 litre.
