Finaly made room in my garage for a new project, and here it is, my first Cabriolet. It is not as good as the one I first looked at, but still not too bad.

A new stablemate for the 3 door.
A closer look and I found a few rust spots, both door bottoms, engine scuttle under battery etc, nothing too major.
After an hour or so I had a long list of things to attend to which will keep me busy all winter.
Scuttle rust getting sorted.

this is my current "to do" list:
Passenger door central lock stiff.-------------replaced lock motor.
small rust bottom both doors.-----------------rust killed and repainted.
PAS leak?---------------------------made/fitted S/S aux belt cover for now.
heater. (there isn't one). -----------used A/C matrix as heater,? and it works.
Remove A/C.-----------------------------------removed hoses,core,drier.
R/F fog light dull,misty.-------------------Good second hand one fitted.
Lube all power windows.--------------------------all good now.
replace steering wheel with original.---------------original wheel fitted.
Indicator not returning to off.---------------------wheel hub sorted this.
Speedo jumping.
Spark plug cover. get new or gd used.-------------got a good used one.
Both rear light lenses cracked. get gd used............two good ones fitted.
exhaust pipe chrome end.------------------------------bought new one.
both outside mirror lenses delaminating.-----------------replaced mirror glass
courtesy light switch broken...............................as new one fitted.
wiper stop positions need adjusting.----------------repainted wipers/adjusted
repair ding in bonnet front gaurds & respray..........all repainted, looks good.
number plate surrounds.--------------------------------bought new ones.
boot gas struts, need new.---------------------boot gas struts regassed.
replace radio & speakers.-----------Original Renault radio/cassette fitted.
new floor mats.----------------------------------------bought new ones.
repair drivers door window switch.-----------------not the switch,wiring?
rear roof seal.-------------------------------------replaced seal.
central stop light. paint white for now.-------------------all done, not bad.
tidy engine bay wiring.----------------------------------all done.
rust in scuttle base.----------------------------rust killed,repainted all good.
T/B intake hose split.------------------------------------repaired.
touch up paint engine bay.-----------------------cleaned, painted all sorted.
engine coolant flush.----------------------done, purified water now in system.
change oil & filter......................................new 10w50 oil and filter.
change air filter.----------------------------bought filter from UK (cheaper)
Radiator-straighten fins and repaint----------------------all done, much better.
re-paint front/rear bumpers.---------------------------all painted,nice.
re-paint boot.-----------------------------------------all done, nice.
wire up front fog lights.----------------------all wired up and working.
Replace spark plugs.-------------------------New set of NGK plugs fitted
Cam cover to be repainted.-----------------Repainted Prizmatic grey.
Heat shields to be recovered.--------------Covered in steam pipe lagging tape
I have replaced all hose clips and many bolts in engine bay with stainless steel ones.
I will update this list as i go, will find more stuff to do.[BREAK]
I was getting a small amount of oil/PAS being thrown up from the aux belt, so made up a nice Stainless steel aux belt cover. looks good and should do the trick for now.
A bit of repainting going on, also stop light.
And also repaint the front bumper and chips.
New warrant of fitness (MOT) 6th Sept 2012. only problem was r/h headlight too high, adjusted and all OK.
Made up some cam cover gaskets today.
Fitted the original R19 radio/cassette from the old 3 door, upgraded speakers and fitted tweeters in front/top corners of dash. very nice sound.
fitted cam cover, painted laquer micro-metalic and 5 coats of clear with Prizmatic flakes, polished up nice.
Also recovered the heat shields with steam pipe lagging aluminium tape.
Quite happy with the results.[break]
Wheels sandblasted and undercoated.(what a job)

Replaced power steering pump which was leaking.
all good now.
25-7-14 Fitted towbar and wired up the electrics. nice.
