So thats it for now one side is now solid same again if not worse on the other side but I work away a lot so its going to be a few weeks before it gets done I will keep updating, turned round ready to start the other side

I did most of the welding last year but then went and bought a MG metro and another Metro and also a Austin 7 so the dope was put on the back burner. I did however fit the new speedo which I had been luck enough to score along with the radio blanking plate and also recovered the dash with snake skin and rebuilt all the switches etc.abe1552e0c4f.webp

All the welded repairs were then blended in the car is now rock solid at last but even this did not egg me on to finish it so the other day it was rolled out and fired up again to try to give me some inspiration.

yeah man the guy who had it off me has some serious resto, fab and welding skills. was above my skill set tbh.

The fab work is above my skillset too, i would love to learn to fabricate as good as that to be fair. Its not the kind of skill thats acquired overnight. Ill stick to the modern non rusty Renaults lol
 
to be fair i had a look at a recently imported 1984 r4 this eve that has had to have some welding, floor looks worse than this, mad considering this is 60 years old
