19 16v interference through ICE install

Just recently I have installed a full system in my car.

1 x 360 watt amp for components
1 x 400 watt amp for sub
tweeters in front with new mids in the door
rear mids with tweeters
new head unit

I have a bad interference problem, checked the amps swapped them over etc... re routed cables, changed head unit, earths (down to bere metal) etc etc... I have illiminated pretty much everything and I think it's my car.

Took it to manchester car audio and even they said they think it's my car after explaining all the methods I have tried to get rid of the interference.

I can hear a continuous buzzing through my speakers and the wine of the altenator when the car is revved

I have fitted quite a few installs over the years and never had anything like this before... Has anyone got any tips to get rid of it please?

Do you have the little RF suppressor thing attached to the coil pack? Plugs in underneath with a wire going to a little black block with a connector that gets sandwiched under the nut on one of the coilpack mounting studs?

Yeah just checked, I have it.

Speak to your audio dealer again, ask them about a noise suppressor capacitor. All that high powered audio equipment picks up stray interference from the alternator and ignition system, a good capacitor should cure it.

i dont understand why this would be happening, like i have neve used a reducer and not experienced the same trouble, any chance this could be the head unit itself or some of the wiring related to it? my ex's da recently experienced something similar with the stock radio in a citroen berlingo, it was an odd problem as the noise/interference reacted with engine revs, oddly once the antenna cable was removed this noise would go away, we did a quick fix on it and just put a standard set of rabbit ears into the back of it, problem solved, obviously this is not a premanent solution but it did indicate where the problem was?

tbh its usually diesel engines that cause interference than the cars its on but he says the alt is making the noise so its that or the alt really. Alts ain't cheap.

they sure aint, alts have been the single biggest problems with ALL of my renaults, every renault i have owned has required at least one alt change

I've found out my head unit isn't earthing properly... I have ran a wire from the neg on the battery to the outer casing of the head unit and it reduced it alot but not stopped it totally. Any idea's on this one?

Check the routing of your RCA cables from the head unit to the amp in the back, 95% chance that is your problem.
Always be sure that the RCA cables cross other cables at an angle of 90 degrees!
If your RCA cables are parallel to other cables from the car also be sure that there is at least 15 cm between them!
I know from experience that only 0,5 cm can make a difference.
