[1 Oct, 2016] Lowiepete's Unofficial Detailing Day (LOWESTOFT)

LowiePete

Well-Known Member
Meet at 10am in Fighting Cocks PH, Lowestoft car park for 10.30am start.

An informal gathering to chat about detailing and cars. I'll possibly be prepping
my R5GTT fresh from its restoration.

Numbers limited to a maximum of 10 attendees from 2 groups. This needs a
minimum of 5 to work as planned. This takes a bit of arranging, so please get
your name in soon. The more names, the more effort I put in on your behalf.

...Or do one in Yorkshire !
That isn't out of the question, though there are better days organised by
Matt Rowe in NE of Gtr Mancs. I go to Cumbria twice a year, in May and Sept,
so something could be arranged - needs a min of 5 attendees and maybe
max of 10. Matt does private tuition details too.

i'll be there. it's great fun and very interesting.
Thanks Ray...
...and, although I can't guarantee it every time, all attendees go home with
around 20 quid's worth of goodies they can actually use. Seeing two GT205
Coupés together, especially tidy ones, is worth the trip too.

Regards,
Steve

We need to do some geography lessons first. Please do not get the poor side of the pennines confused with Yorkshire.

;)

Sounds like it could be a plan.

Hello Folks,

Just to say that the day is "On", the weather looks like playing ball and there's
a goodie bag in progress. There's still room if you want to come, but please
advise because the event only meets in the pub car park. We'll be moving on
elsewhere as soon as everyone arrives. I'd not want you to sit there because
you weren't expected.

Regards,
Steve

Steve - I would love to come to this, but have got commitments at the moment. Hope you do another one, this one passed me bye, I don't get on here as much as I would like.

Hope it goes well.

yet again a great day by Steve, it was a small group but friendly bunch of guys.we tried different methods of cleaning and preparing the paint and how to do it the EASY and safe way including clay cloth and waxing and got to play with the latest potion carpro essence, truly amazing stuff witch we got a big bottle in our goody bag to take home.i just wish i could have remembered to take pictures of the before and after.it was a sham the rain cut the day a bit sort ( my fault it always rains when i go to Steve's )so for anyone that was unable to turn up you missed a great day. again thanks to Steve for doing this.
regards
Ray

Ray, you'll just have to move to Lowie, we're in drought conditions here!

Oh, on second thoughts... ;) Glad you enjoyed your day. I always marvel at
the huge compliment I get from visitors who travel from well over 100 miles
away. There's you and Mark who came from the wilds of Bedfordshire, in a
Range Rover @ 17 mpg! So, many thanks again for your support.

The convo of the day, for me, was when Mark is admiring the 2 Coupés and
tells Ray that he's only ever seen one before, at a car show. There's me
wondering who the other fool is who takes a Laguna Coupé to car shows
and where, when it turns out that it was my car he'd seen at the Sporting
Bears show in Kimbolton.

Weather permitting, the next one in Lowestoft will be Summer Prep, next
April or May and if @andybond can find us a suitable venue and willing
participants, we'll do one "up norf" in May, in preparation for the Fastlane
Car Show?

Regards,
Steve

Well, anywhere within reasonable striking distance of Shap, which gives me access to M6 N or S
and A66 East or even A69 East.

Regards,
Steve
Bugger.

164mi to Shap , or 169mi to Lowestoft !

Ill consult our map of members and see who is interested and message you where you ( as you are running it ! ) would like to frequent.

Andrew! Less of that language, glass half full..!

So, it's 70 miles to Ilkley or Keighley, coming from the N.West, and
70 miles to Ripon coming from the North. BTW, I'm not "running it",
just "guest speaker" as it were.

Ideally, it needs 10 people to be viable, and an absolute minimum of 6.
It's very much a hands-on day for everyone, so I can watch how you all
progress individually, and to let everyone witness the sudden smiles of
satisfaction that properly cleaned and smooth paint gives. ;)

On Saturday, one guy travelled 135 miles in a big black chariot that
does around 17mpg. How's that for a compliment? Needless to say, he
left with very smooth and shiny paint and a big smile!

Regards,
Steve
