1.5 Dci to 1.6 Dci differences?

:ag:Anyone know much about these engines?
I have a Meg III 1.5 Dci and considering a swop to the later 1.6 Dci engine. Have no idea if they are at all similar and if the ecu's are basically the same?? Is the 1.6 in fact a Nissan engine?
Any help appreciated

Totally different in All areas, from electric's to mechanical.

Oh I was hoping that wasn't the case!
What about the gearboxes??

Differences in bell housing bolt pattern & starter motor fixings, then the actual ratios which if you could actually fit the box to a 1.6 Dci or visa versa it would throw injection & ABS systems in to a major wobbly.
By the time you swap things around & sort out the various issues, you might have well brought a the car you trying create.

Thanks for the info Red21, I will take your advice on this one and not bother. Get the 1.6 next time I buy a car!
