Isn't it just, but I never set out to acquire 2 when I started my search in July 2011. It just so happened that a previous purchase of a LY fell through in February 2012, due to the seller pulling out at the last minute. So when the opportunity to purchase this LY arose I snapped it up, especially since it was (and is) in an as-new condition, having only covered 795 miles from new, and is streets ahead of the one I was going to purchase.
As regards the 56 plate, it must be one of the last Clio V6's to be registered in the UK, but I am not sure. However, I would hazard a guess that #314 is the lowest mileage Liquid Yellow in the UK.
It has been rather an interesting journey into Renault ownership, which only began in August 2011, with the purchase of #002. From then on the Vee has certainly got under my skin, but never did I think I would end up with 2 of them, let alone one like the rare LY in that condition.
The storage facility I use is owned by a member of the Bugatti Owner's Club, so it is used to house some very expensive motors. The LY Vee will remain there but the Illiad Vee will come "home" by spring next year, to be swapped over with either the 993 RS or the Alfa SZ, which are at home right now.
Don't understand the relevance of your question - why would I want to drive both Vees when the experience of one will suffice? Besides the LY is in an as-new condition, and will only retain its value if kept in that condition, whilst the Illiad is geared up for fast road use with the right tweaks (but it could do with a better suspension set up). Additionally I am not the kind of person who owns or drives cars for the benefit of other people, and certainly don't hang about waiting to be noticed, or look around at who is admiring what I drive!
Lastly, if I am being honest my other cars (968 CS, 993 RS and Alfa SZ) are far far better to drive than the Vee (i.e. they are either more challenging or are more fun to drive). However, I love the Vee, and think it has so much character, which is why I have ended up with two of them - one to drive and one to keep.
Sorry if my post sounded like a criticism. I was purely interested to know if it was going to be driven at any point.
For what it's worth, if it's done less thank 1k miles in 6 years then I agree that there's no point starting to add any more now. If the Vee becomes a classic (which I'm sure it will) then that's a nailed on museum example

No worries Ed. Yes, the LY has only done 796 miles from new and I have never even driven it!
I have only sat in it once, when the then owner took me out for a test drive when I viewed the car - the odometer had 790 miles when we set out and had ticked up to 795 when we returned, and this was in March 2012. Took delivery of the car towards the end of April, when Scott transported the car straight to his workshop, where is sat until July, and in between the Vee went through a thorough engine out inspection, cam/aux belt change and full (major) service including the change of all fluids and filters. Only 1 mile has been added since, so the clock now reads 796 miles. As such, it will stay comfortably below 1,000 miles for the foreseeable future. Whilst in storage it will be exercised every month, and oil and filter changes done as normal.
