anyone no if you can pop them out of the bumpstrip to replace with new ones.mine have gone dark grey or been sprayed. :?

ive noticed the bumper bumpstrips have metal strips in,but the side bumpstrips on my ph1 are actually all plastic,theres no metal strip.
the silver/grey strip is just painted on.
ive seen this also on a H reg 1.2,williams 1 and a J reg 16v.
Yes you can get them out,got some out of my front bumper last weekend,you need to remove the bumpers and look behind them,youll see 5/6 small tabs,push these out carefuly using a flat bladed screwdriver,once youve started them off you can pull them out from the front.There is a thin metal strip inside too which is either silver or black coated so be careful not to pull on them too hard as theyll bend.Simples
I just got a small flat headed screw driver and slid it underneath pushed in a little and they started coming off..
what about your side bumpstrips though?
ive seen 3 diffrent types on ph1’s now.Either all black,painted on(like mine), or with a metal strip.
also the all black one is kind of rougher plastic.
