WTF...bonnet catch

Hi Guys,

So turn up to work today, try to open the bonnet and the below item literally ejects itself out of the gap between bonnet and air grille :

As you can see, it's sheared off in the bottom left corner! :ihatpcs:

Anyone know a) a way to open the bonnet without it?! b) what the hell has happened? c) part number? d) anyone have a spare one?

Thanks!!

Ben

I would advise you to ring a Main Dealer and get them to check if the bonnet catch recall has been done on your Vee. They should have the most up to date part for its replacement.

Some details LINK

Yep, just checked and the recall has already been done on mine, damn!

So, spoke to a parts guy and the plastic handle is not available separately, it's part of the upper bonnet catch assembly, part number 8200069296.

So question remains, does anyone have a spare one lying around? Otherwise it's £45.00 + to Renault

From having watched them fit the recall item on mine, I'm almost certain that the plastic handle wasn't involved anyhow. Think it was purely the main sprung metal one on the bonnet itself.

Scrap yard all the same on all Phase 2 clios, a couple of quid should get you one or ask someone on ebay selling a used bonnet for one.
