Winter storage & mice

Away to put the car off the road for the winter in the garage.

Never really had a problem with mice but have seen a few poop's when I cleaned it last year.

Question is, I have got six mouse traps today to set around the car but have also read that "Bounce dryer sheets" are really good to put inside the car cause the mice don't like the smell, problem is I can only find the "Lenor" ones haha, joking aside am guessing these will do.

Any input welcome especially from the likes of Colin as I know you stay on a farm and ur vee never moves.

I had mice in mine last year, little buggers ate my dash top, jack box foam in the boot, some of the foam inside the driver seat and a small nibble of the engine cover!

I got away with just replacing the dash top as you cant see the other bits.

I caught the sod with a trap. I now leave traps in it all the time that im not driving it. little fuk*rs

It didnt 'bounce' much as I chucked its dead corpse with its neck at 90degrees to its body in the hedge though!

Not good mate. Lucky it was just a mouse and not a family/nest.

Mouth-balls are meant to be great as they hate that smell aswell but so do I hence looking into dryer sheets.

Where do you put the traps? Am thinking four on the floor and maybe to on the rear bulk as am going to have the engine covers off for a while and don't want to give them direct access to the cabin!!!

Did they not get any of ure wires?

[smilie=icon_eek.gif] Hence why I wan't to get the car protected. Have never had a problem yet but I would hate it to happen to the vee, most other cars I could live with as parts are more available.

Am not planning on leaving it more than a week at a time between jobs but....

I hear "MOTH' balls might work too haha. I put the traps on the floor, one each side in the foot wells and one in the boot (ok yes the boot was then full as we all know the huge capacity of our boots).

I had the car shut and all trims in place, they still managed to get on the car. So don't think but just having the engine covers off its going to make it easier for them... they will get in anywhere the find the smallest of gaps.

Get a cat :)

After seeing Dawn's pussy spread all over the forum I did think of askin her for a try. Not sure if the garage is the best place for it tho. [smilie=icon_eek.gif] :salut:

Hi,
The best thing to put in the mouse traps is a slice of Mars Bar, mice love it. They do not like cheese it makes them smell.

Nigel.

Are you telling me that Tom and Jerry have been lying to us all these years? :(

I'm off to take that Mars bar out my glove box!

The 'Bounce sheet' theory is interesting. Anyone tried that before?
Also, any obvious gaps that they can get into the interior through?

Not sure about mice but I know Rats go Gaga for peanut butter (seen how effective it was many years back at a mates work yard).

However, years back as a school kid I worked in a petrol station that had a mouse problem.
They loved all the confectionary.
Mars Bars, Kit Kats etc but I think they had a leaning towards marathon bars (now snickers).
