Any one had any problems with the windscreen washers?

I can hear the motor spinning over, nothing comes out of the windscreen washers however some fluid comes out of the rear window washer?

Any one know if they are different pumps or not, how easy is it to get to the bottle and pumps and any one know of any common problems with them?

Just nice to know where to start looking before I take it all appart.

Cheers for any advice.

Matt

Its two seperate pumps for the front and back.

Have you noticed any washer fluid leaking in the floor?

The pipe might be blocked, you might wanna blow some air through it. Normally theres a little Gauze filter on the pump to stop any crap but they can break off.

Most probable cause is the hose has come off/apart somewhere

Unfortunately its gonna invole some trial and error, best way is to start with the easy things first, ie are the washers blocked.

Lets us know how you get on

I had this on my old punto, the pipe work still had fluid running to the back but not the front, worked out I had run out but wasnt convinced as the rear still squirted.

check all hose connections and fluid level. also try and needle in the actual tiet of the jet. mate had his superglued once!

The only problem I have had is that the one way valves failed and water syphoned itself out throught the headlamp washers emptying the resovoir. I know from experience on saabs that they fail regularly ( I was a saab mechanic ) and when you go to squirt the screen it would just squirt from the relief on the valves, these were fitted almost directly beneath the bonnet jets inline, haven't looked to see if my clio has them, just a thought? :)
