Windscreen seals

The top windsceeen seal decided to come off last night on the motorway i.e. the big black rubber strip that runs across the width of the car at the top of the windscreen. Now although I managed to retrieve it I've not got a clue how to reattach it. [smilie=doubt.gif]

On quick inspection it looks like the reason it came off was that it is slightly worn on the right hand side and so slides in and out of it's housing pretty freely. I assume the only way to rectify this is to apply adhesive? If so anyone got any ideas what kind?

All google threw at me was this. Any use? - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=737662

Hi

Top strip in normally glued in as part of the windscreen fitting process. But you should be able to push it back in, use a wing or body panel glue/ mastic in black to hold it in place.

If its damaged or you cant refit it, pop to the local windscreen shop, they my well have a spare or be able to refit it for you hopefully for a drink.

Cheers

Steve

Cheers for that Steve. :approve:

Think I'll give Autoglass a cheeky call to see what they suggest as there are no body shops local to me and I possess zero initiative
