wierd noise when warmish

Kinda hard one to explain really, when i start the car from cold in the morning it comes on choke for a bit and everything is fine, if i start it when its been off for about a hour or so it idles very low and clunks with the tickover, however the clunk goes if i give it a rev over 2k or so or when i start driving and go past it... wierd i know.

sounds like a poorly car like a low tapping/clunky noise, oil levels are fine and as said goes away when its revved and stays away when the idle drops again... my mate said his 911 gt3 does the same and its just takes a while for the oil to fully go round?

Maybe you have some sticking hydraulic lifters? Could try and engine flush?. My Metro turbo used to do the same on tickover. Eventually found out that one side of the engine was not sitting in the engine mount properly and was slightly elevated on one side. Pushed it back into the mount properly so it sat level and then it idled fine. Almost like the oil wasnt getting to some parts of the engine ok?
