Ok well some of you may have seen i have just bought a lovely low mileage titanium silver vee

I have never drove one before ... i am used to front wheel drive cars and biggest engine i had was a 1.6 turbo in my vxr.

What will it be like ... what will i notice this most about the whole experience ... i hoping it a nice low sporty feel also in comparison to the hatch backs i have had .

I love these sort of posts...
...it's like waiting for Christmas!

The experience couldn't be further removed from any other 4-pot fwd experience that you've had...
...it is mixture of giggles, expletives and aural intensity.

Careful with the Rwd though. It's well worth exploring the limits in a safe environment before hooning it around. You'll find various types trying to bait you... Lol!

Like warm apple pie,

But really.
Doesn't matter what anyone will tell you it'll be better than what they say. There's something about them that's just so special. It'll just make you want to go for a drive again and again. When I was waiting to get mine I couldn't stop watching YouTube and thinking about it but it was still hundreds of times better than I thought it would be.

I have been watching loads of vids ... I can't wait now ... And yeh will be taking it very easy at first for sure slowly get feel for it

I would genuinely pay to come with you to pick this car up and watch your reaction.... Nice one dude, congrats!

This!

Even after all these years, it STILL feels special!

They are quite light at the front and you really feel the weight of that big engine when you chance direction. The mid engine characteristics make it a very unique experience!

And the noise!!!

I want to go for a drive now!!

Ha :) this has got me so looking forward to it now

I was in exaclty the same boat Simon, coming from FWD 1.6's its a different world [smilie=yay.gif]

Such a sense of occasion anytime you go for a drive, I'm just glad our weather's so changeable or my mileage would be through the roof.

One of the biggest differences I've found is the level of grip :race: , so much more planted but be careful until your a bit more used to it. Last thing we want is another 'well that was fun while it lasted' thread :approve:

The first time I went fully through the rev range I nearly pissed me pants laughing.

I still do...

The first thing you'll giggle at is the noise revving up behind you. Then as Duncan says, the front end feels really light (I came from a 200 and 172). I also felt it was so wide and was conscious going through gaps.

Then you'll go for a 3 point turn and take 5 or 7 attempts...

Then you'll go put another tank in and people will ask either

1) is that a body kit

2) is that a real one

Or

3) that's amazing, I've not seen one for years/never seen one

Then you'll just never stop smiling. I bought mine about a year ago from Steve and absolutely love it. Normally get itchy and change cars every year - this is a keeper.

Enjoy

It's a petrolheads dream [cmilie=iconcheers.gif] it's a unique driving experience for sure, the sound of the V6 behind your head especially as you give it some beans - it just keeps on revving, the mechanical feel and clunking from the gear box, the steering gives good feedback, great brakes that inspire confidence, the car feels very "alive" when driven quickly on a twisty road :race:. All in all Renault have created a mini supercar for sure :approve: :approve:

Take your time to learn the handling characteristics and if the road is damp, greasy or wet then proceed with caution or it WILL try to catch you out

Oh and the looks you'll get

I've had mine now seven and a half years and it still makes me grin like a cheshire cat [smilie=yay.gif]

I remember paying a deposit for mine back in 2006 and having to wait a week to pick it up as I went on holiday - I was so excited and couldn't stop thinking about it whilst I was away !!! Most people will know what I mean from the above comments ...

The evening I went to pick the Vee up was in the summer and I did over a 100 miles or so in it :race: ... it was brilliant, my left thigh was absolutely aching the following day though as the standard seats are so uncomfortable for my driving position - they had to go eventually ... This didn't stop me enjoying every moment of driving the car though
