What is this light for

Can anyone advise the purpose of this little light next to the gear lever.
It's not illuminated, which is probably good.
It does not seem to feature in section 1.32 of the Ph2 downloadable manual.

Hmm looks exactly like the Alarm/immobiliser light that was put in my old ph1 172. Does it flash when locked?

Strange though as my ph2 has a light in the dash for this?

Mine too has the flashing light on the dash cluster.

It seems that not all Phase2s have the same model of (Cobra) alarm/immobiliser, but, so far, the difference appears to be the presence of a back up batter in one and not in the other: Alarm & Immobiliser installed in Phase 2?
