Washer Jets?

Right then, here goes.........

....since owning my Clio 255, I have never had a working set washer's (front headlights, front windscreen and rear washers). I took this to Renault and they have said that it will most likely to be the wiring loom. Now then, this was about 3 months ago and since the car never gets bought out or gets dirty, I never thought if the need to have this repaired. The MOT is due beginning on April and so i must get this sorted. Since the months have flown by, i cannot remember the exact price but seem to think it was gonna cost me about £1000 [smilie=icon_eek.gif] .

Has anyone got any other ideas?? ....or can get this cheekily looked at without this massive bill?

Thanks

If they are never used I would say it is more likely to be stuck/sticky motors etc. I would find it hard to imagine the loom is faulty on all 3 circuits unless, possibly, they come to a single fused link for example...

I guess it is possible there is only 1 motor operating all 3 washers but I expect 1 motor operates front and rear washers and a high pressure motor operates the headlamp washers.

Try and locate one of the cricuits and carry out a continuity or power test to the motor connector.

Check out the electrical manual in the knowledge base ... Electrical Manual

It's definitely a single motor between front and rear. Mines snuffed it ... well the motor runs but nothing comes out front or rear which is common with Clios where the pump internals die. After a few weeks of only being able to drive it on dry or very wet days given the problem of salt on the screen, it's finally about to get fixed whilst Rentech are also flinging in new pads front and rear for me.

When last I tested, the headlamps washers were indeed still pulsing out a spray of water suggesting that that is a different pump.

Dallan ... when you pull your stalk is nothing happening at all? No sound or anything?
