Valeo vs Sagem

Had another coil go today, thats 4 since i bought her (15month approx) All 4 that have gone were Sagem ones. Am i right in thinking these were the original coils installed during production? The replacement Valeo ones seem to be an upgrade in terms of reliability. Has anyone had any of the Valeo ones go on them?

MK2.... When looking up coils Renault system asks you to choose either Delphi or Valeo. Whichever you select it gives you just one part number :
7701479027 (Delphi)

MK1.... When looking up coils the Renault systems asks you to choose "Delphi" or "No Special Markings", again whichever you select it gives you just one part number 7701479027 (Delphi)


I decided long ago never to walk into a Renault Dealer, so I made up my mind and went for Citreon/Pug.
The new replacements (Citreon 597094 importantly it's not a Sagem part any longer) I put in over 3 years ago have been faultless. Marking on them = Delphi 19005337

I've not had a valeo go on me yet, I've done 3 coils and all were the sagem ones. Changed them all to valeo ones and no probs so far!!!

And yes the sagem ones were the standard factory fitment.

No coils gone for me in 5 years/14k miles - I do have 3 spares in readiness though ...

Martin... When you get a chance can you have a look at what make coils are fitted in yours?

Will do Wayne, next day or two then I will be able to confirm

I do seem to remember when Jainy had one go and a day or so later the replacement went that it was down to the coil not being fully located onto the plug nipple.

Had sagem ones go but not valeo, changed the lot eventually, gsf about 21 quid each if you order a set, since changing them all, no more probs.
