V6 Statistics - I love ‘em!

Given a good proportion of V6s found their way to our shores (even in convenient RHD guise!), we often fail to recognise the rarity of the marque.

I love these production number stats:

V6 255 1309

Ferrari F40 1315

Lancia Delta Evo II 2481

Correct me if I’m wrong:

Total V6 RMR models: 2956

Total R5 Turbo RMR models: 4987

There are plenty more mind-boggling facts out there... please feel free to contribute! We’ll add the best onto the Wikipedia page for the lazy journos!

I’ve noticed that classic car adverts are stating to dissect the production run.
e.g.
How many RHD ‘06 UK registered V6 255 models?

I love a stat. [emoji1303] Not sure how accurate this website is but it’s saying there is only 99 phase 2 on the road in the uk at the moment.

@Duncan

Would you be bold enough to add to the Wikipedia submission?

I think it needs words like ‘low volume’, information on Production numbers and colours... maybe even the Ph1 subframes upgrade and the short-lived Ph2 I.D. Programme.

The HUGE omission is the V6 Trophy series which spawned the road cars. It would be nice educate the uninitiated...

[mention=343,#000000]Kett[/mention] just had a little edit to see how it all works. I will try to build it up a bit, without getting too carried away!

13 UK registered in 2006.

Some more related stats:

well over 30 registered in 2006 worldwide.

latest known car is a Spanish car which was registered 12/11/2009

So, if I were selling a 2006 model...

‘’This amazing 2006 V6 255 is one of only 13 UK registered for 2006.’’

Here’s an example of a ten-times commoner vehicle...

Yes a sales point, but they would need to contact the club to get the correct stats.

To be honest, the year its registered is a bit of a waste of time. They were all M.Y. 2005 cars. ;)

Looks much better Duncan!

The only error that I spotted was that:
The V6 Trophy dates in the bottom summary box don’t match the sub-heading dates.

Would of this car been old / new stock or possibly had not been registered by the owner till 2009!

could be any number of things.
- new/old stock - there were quite a few 2006-2007 registered cars which I would hazard a guess are such cars.
- It may of been registered elsewhere and then imported to Spain in Nov 2009. A mistake could of been made on the Spanish registration papers so the papers read Nov 2009 when they should read sometime in 2004 (when this specific car was built)
- Car was bought by a dealership as a centre piece and not registered until later
- Any number of possible issues between the owner and the Law :)

Anyone for Alonso hype...?

Second that, much better now. :approve:

A few observations:
  • - Should we not add 'Clio V6 Story' (Wake-upp Editions) to the References section?
    - With regards to the following "This was a full competition car, with sequential Sadev gearbox, full roll cage, magnesium wheels and engine output upped to 285ps", would the above reference not be more appropriate (authoritative) than Parker's?

As a side note, do we know what happened to the 'Alonso Vee'?

The one eluded to above is a marketing gimmick (its [v6plaque]165[/v6plaque], it was exported to France a while back), but Alonso did actually personally own a ph2 for nearly two years:

[v6plaque]218[/v6plaque] (non uk), its now owned by David Schmaltz over at cliov6passion

Alonso also was spotted with a Spanish phase 1, not sure if he owned it or not though.
