tyres

etyres are pretty good as well. I got the Rosso's from them and found them cheapest, also think they were cheapest with Michelin's as well. Added bonus, prices include VAT and fitting and they come to you to fit them so no cheeky added costs as you go through the buying process on line.
 
Costco have a 20% off sale coming up on all Michelin tyres (got to buy 4). You do have to be a member or have a mate thats a member.

Michelin PilotSport 2

> Front: 205/40/ZR18 86Y -- £157.79 each
> Rear: 245/40/ZR18 93Y -- £183.75 each

both prices include VAT, balancing and fitting.

Total fitted price with 20% off = £546.46

I dont know how that compares to other quotes people have had but it may help someone?
 
Can you just buy the tyres from costco, and then have them fitted else where?

And if so, what is the price then?

Thats fair enough (as I wasn't looking to try and save a load more £), but how careful are they?

I use a local place normally, as I've got a bit of a rappor with them, and they know how anal I am about not damaging the wheels.

TBH i'd rather spend a bit more getting them fitted elsewhere, in the knowledge that they are going to be looked after, rather than some monkey who doesn't give a fuck other than how many sets of tyres he / she can fit in a day (BTW i'm not implying this is the case at Costco).

I personally would pay the extra and get the guys u know will look after them then. Costco imo take bloody ages to fit them too.

My understanding is that the price is the same whether you get them to fit them or not. I also believe you can buy them, take them away and have them fitted anytime within 12 months should you wish to.

I think the sale/promo starts a week today. (29/10/08)
