Can you get 255/40/18's on the bak of the vee?
Sticking with 215's at the front.

I run 215/40/18 tyres on the front - very little (can't remember the exact calculation) difference in circumference from the stock 205/40/18 tyre size. I run the stock 245/40/18 size tyres on the back.

The total cost of a full set of Continental Sport Contact 2 tyres was £479.60 all in

I used to have 255/40/18 rear and 215/40/18 front. No problems and very close to my Mk1 original sizes.
Mk2 has slighlty larger rear and slightly smaller front as standard but these sizes would work fine for Mk2 also.

255/35/18 is what I had....not 255/40.
Sorry not been on 18s for a while and the memory is going.
