looking at ordering some ADVAN Neova AD08 tonight.
has anyone run 225 40 18 on the fronts and i might go for the 255 40 18 on the back if there are no problems.
and if anyone has had them before what are the wear rates like
You want extreme dry street performance and are willing to trade some comfort and hydroplaning resistance to get it.
Not to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, in snow or on ice, or at high speeds in rain or deep standing water, these specially tuned tyres combine big-block tread designs with aggressive tread compounds and reinforced internal constructions to emphasize dry road response, traction, handling and high speed capabilities for serious driving enthusiasts.
I had the ad08 on my focus rsmk2 which had been pushing out 350 bhp through the front tyres . Did a few track days and general looning around and found the wear rate very good considering they are a soft compound tyre . be careful choosing the tyre size , the 40 part of the tyre means 40 percent of the tyres width . so 40 percent of 225 is more than 40 percent of 205 , which means your total radius and circumference of the tyre will be larger than your stock tyre . So your speedo will read 56.1 mph rather than 60mph with slower acceleration . Toyo do a tr1 in a 205/40/18 or a 215/35/18 .
The speedo side of things is not an issue just wanted to know if anyone was running 225 40 on the front with out any problems and the same on the 255 40
