TRW1 Rebuild

Some progress pictures........

Scott @ SG Motorsport (and Rupert) have been busy stripping the car to the shell which is quite interesting for those that want to know what their car looks like 'underneath'.

Much of the interior had already gone but now the rest is going too. The car will be caged and rebuilt with the bare minimum.....a motorsport setup much like Mark's Rally car.

A good deal of weight had been shed upto now but much more will be saved with the removal of the dash and it's complex loom, the aircon and heating matrix are all going too along with all remaining plastic interior parts including door cards.

There's a new engine going in which Scott has been working on too. The spec is:

Lightened/balanced bottom end
Omega forged pistons
TWR modified cylinder heads
Newman cams
Uprated injectors
TWR development plenum
polished intake
Custom decat exhaust
Trophy coils
NGK plugs
Tilton clutch
Trophy Flywheel
Solid engine mounts
Foamed fuel tank with twin intank lift pumps
Bosch 044 fuel pump
Braided lines
Mocal oil cooler
Fuel swirl pot
Oil catch tank........etc.

I've spoken to Scott about the possibility of a Group Buy on this conversion and he is happy to offer a discount if we can get 10.

Final bill should be in the £250-300 region so I understand it's not for everyone.........

You told me the most you were doing is adding a new air freshener.

More on the Mocal oil cooler please. :)

James, the new air freshener is bigger than the old one so Scott said we needed more room......

Mike's discussions with a Mocal agent suggested that none of the multi-row air oil coolers have the capacity to handle a 3.0L engine.
The water cooled one below seems to help according to data from Mike's and from Mark's Rally car but it is still limited as to what it can do. For road useage it will be better whereas Mark is often at 100% throttle or nothing (according to the data I saw at Scott's) and revving high too so he works things harder than us...
Mike has his mounted along the line of the bulkhead just behind the seats, as will I, it's an easy place for our setup........
Costs?..........waiting to hear from Mike for confirmation
