Trophy Build

T1RBO

Well, having now got a total of three Trophy cars (I bought winnie's rallycross car as well!), we now have enough spares to run the rally car.

So, Scott and I have decided to to build one up as a going concern and it will be for sale as soon as paying work allows.

At the moment it is a pretty clean sheet as to its final spec and if anyone is seriously interested, now would be a good time to say as I can give you a list of options.

The basic spec will be 3.0 Huger Trophy engine, 6-speed Sadev sequential gearbox, Brembo brakes and Bilstein suspension. At its basic level I guess the price will be between £15K and £20K - so please don't bother if you think £5K will buy it

The basic spec gets a great trackday car or would be eligible for something like Britcar if you were really brave. Where you go past this is up to your wallet - if you knew what the blue car cost, or what MikeT has spent you might think us mad....

However, we have learned a lot of tricks and not all cost a fortune. Also, we now know what does work and what doesn't so there are some blind alleys that you can avoid. To be honest, in basic form it's a pretty competitive car and always draws a crowd. It certainly would if you want it as a road/track car.

The shell is the ex-Rick Pearson race car and it has now been shot-blasted inside and out and repainted.

The Trophy shells are massively strong and quite different to a road car. The cage is more akin to a WRC car than a saloon and is welded everywhere (not a bolt-in job), picking up from all the suspension mounts and also the engine bay.

Where the cage mounts to the floor is boxed and there is additional strengthening along the inner sills tying the door aperture together.

The front struts are held together by a huge crossmember which is specific to the Trophy and it is seam welded everywhere.

I promise to update the rally stuff soon (some vids as well) but PM me if you fancy owning this one's brother :D

Very nice 8)...........................said whilst wiping the drool from around mouth :D

Sorry everyone,

We originally only had three sets of Trophy wheels - not enough to cover all eventualities - and the purchase of winnies car was partly driven by the extra wheels that were part of the package.

Answer is no I'm afraid.
