Trendlines Fitted!

Mr Tim

New Member
Finally got round to finishing off fitting the Trendlines.

Definitely something that can be done at home with some basic tools. The hardest part for me was firstly finding and then getting access to the bolts in the centre of the car as these are obscured by various coolant pipes and foam mounting, with a workshop ramp/lift this would have been much simpler.

Transfer of OEM subframes and the wiring of the seats is fairly straight forward and with the correct resistor there is no air bag light on :)

Found this guide pretty helpful but there are some differences.

In terms of driving, there is a vast improvement over the standard seats. The seating position is a fair bit lower and for me more comfortable, especially in the corners as you don't slide about anywhere near as much as before. Actually feels like there is less body roll as you don't move so much! :race:

I was a bit concerned that the seats would clash with the otherwise very blue interior but in the flesh it does actually look pretty good (even if I do say so myself). The seats match the colour of the steering wheel, the only addition I would now consider would be to change the mats for black items.

I know exactly what you mean about the middle bolts being a c**t to get to :(

My trendlines will hopefully be fitted one day, in the process of ordering myself some ramps so as to make it a bit easier. Don't want to loosen the inner bolts off and not be able to get them re-tightened

It'll be worth it in then end :approve:

I reversed the car on to a pair of shallow ramps and then used the Renault jack to lift the front with axle stands for support.
