traction control

Does any one have a Racelogic Traction control fitted to their V6,I am considering having one fitted .I just want to know the ins and outs

Pretty pointless on a car if its used only in the dry. The v6's traction is probably its strong point.
 
I lost the back end on mine when it was moist traction control 1k ,how much and where can you get a slip diff from ?
 
Try a search on 'Quaife' and you might get lucky (you probably need membership to access all of the archives).
TBH you're going to struggle to get an objective result through personal testimonies...
...the concept makes sense though.
 
Ok i have joined up look forward to reading up on the diff . I need to get the V6 out to play .i`ve had it 9 years an done 14k

Traction control? Plenty of things that can be done before going down the Racelogic route. Ranging from a simple geometry session all the way through to a complete overhaul of the suspension system, binning all the Renault bits!

Another (cheaper) consideration is driver tuition in a sanitised environment so you can take the car to and beyond the limit safely. You'll start to learn the characteristics of the car and what inputs to make when things start to go wrong.

Not a massive improvement IMO.
I drove before 4 Jears with standard Coils and Diff a lot on tracks.

With LSD its posssible to accelerate a bit earlier ou of corner.

The KW Var. 3 is a bit better on fast corners and the vee looks nicer when a bit lower.
I was very happy with the standard coils over years, but after 75^000 miles and a lot of hard trackdays at almost limits i thought to replace it.
 
Agree, having traction control is rather pointless in a Vee - unless you are planning on a lot of wet weather use and/or as a daily driver (in snow & ice) and want to have peace of mind. IMO, as a weekend car it would be rather pointless. An LSD may be more useful, but.......

As far as I am aware, the only (aftermarket) LSD for the Vee is the Quaife ATB Helical LSD, which is an automatic torque biasing (ATB) differential that uses helical gears rather than differential plates or torque clutch. This means that as long as both wheels have some grip the LSD will make sure that the torque is split between the two driven wheels regardless of relative wheel speed. However, if say one wheel loses grip (e.g. running over ice, or, say, one driven wheel is off the ground) then this particular LSD will behave just like the OEM (open) differential. As such, this LSD is said to work well with a good suspension set up that ensures the driven wheels offer maximum contact with the road/track surface at all times, which really isn't and issue with the Vee due its configuration (especially since a rather heavy V6 lump sits directly above the driven wheels).
