Toe in

Hi all
Ok .... I have had a rush trip to pick up the car, and I am off back to Brisbane for work, so I had to shop around quickly on Saturday for tyres, as I plan to get back just before xmas to do the transfer of the rego into the state of victoria ( its a South australian car currently)

Anyway .... long story short, I had Sumitomo HTR Z3's Fitted ? they are a jap version of the Pilots ( So I am told)
So far so good, but the front now seems a little edgy ... not quite tram lining,

The guys who fitted the tyres did a wheel alignment as well ... the car had some TOE in of -3.1mm and -3.9mm left and right.
He put it back to 0.0mm ...
I have been reading the Clio Manual, and it looks like they recommend some toe in ?

Is this correct ??? can anyone help ?
