For those that are interested, here is a write up of my recent detail:
This was the state of it after 2 weeks without a clean!
First up was a good coating of snow foam
Left to dwell for about 5 mins and then rinsed off with the pressure washer.
Then snow foamed again to aid with lubrication and washed with Megs Hyperwash using the 2 bucket method and lambswool mitt.
Leaving:
All 4 wheels were then taken off and washed with Bilberry wheel cleaner and clayed with Bilt-Hamber Auto-Clay. Arches were treated with APC and rinsed.
Wheels were then polished with Autoglym SRP and given 2 coats of Poorboys Whel Sealant.
That was 2 days gone.
Car was then clayed using Bilt-Hamber Auto-Clay and given another quick wash. Then dried with a Rubbish Boys Super Plush Drying Towel (which is great).
Unfortunately the rain came shortly after and prevented me starting the polishing.
Day 4 and the car was dried again and taped up ready for polishing.
After numerous tests with different pad and polish combinations I eventually settled on a Megs polishing pad with Megs #80 as there was barely any correction required. I did struggle seeing the fine scratches that needed correcting due to poor lighting options available to me. Anyway, here are the results from polishing.
That was 3 days worth of work due to being a novice and having to work round the weather!
Day 7 and the car was polished using Duragloss Polish & Cleaner (101) by hand using a foam applicator pad. Worked for a few passes and left to haze whilst going round the whole car and then buffed off using a microfibre cloth.
This was followed by Duragloss Total Performance Polish (105), applied by hand using a foam applicator pad. Left to haze and buffed off using a microfibre cloth.
The paint was then wiped down with Duragloss Aquawax.
Glass was polished with Autoglym glass polish and tyres dressed with Duragloss TMD 253 (with rain repel)
Final Result (As seen in the media section!):
