The r5 Le car turbo PFC mag

when i see it yeah, looks fucking awesome! but not actually missing it much. love the clio and does everything i ask of it in its stride. A car as good looking as that 5 and as rare can be a pain to work on and drive. I wanted to efi my first one back in 2004 so it was a project itch i wanted to scratch, did that and kinda pushed the car aside bar the odd drive and show.

Plus I suppose you've had all the fun getting how you wanted it and now
someone else has the pain in the arse job of maintaining a 30 year old car that happens to be in bloody good nick and worrying like mad every time you leave it parked up somewhere!!

Nice article and writeup. I have no idea what it feels like to sell a car I have worked on. I still own them all. I either keep them or scrap them! My Gordini Turbo is actually a Le Car 2 Turbo but has been Gordini specced since I bought it. Would be difficult to return to Le Car 2 spec!
Mine is off road at the moment, so I can't claim that yours wasn't the only one!
Just waiting for my guy to get on with the modern ignition system. I'm not sure he'll finish it this year. He retires at Christmas, so I don't know what happens then!

The write up is a little off tbh, I did ask to see it before hand to correct things but it never happened....

Always the way, isn't it! I enjoyed reading it...
I proof-read the Practical Classics Renault 5 Buyers' Guide several times for that mag. I wanted to make sure it was 100% accurate!
I once wrote an article for Practical Performance Car on a front-engined Turbo 2-like creation that a friend of mine in Tenerife built. Luckily, because I wrote the article, they didn't mess with it too much except for chopping it down because it was a bit long!
I'll see if I can scan the article and post it here. I'm sure it would be interesting reading!
Oh and my Le Car 2 Turbo isn't rusty ;)

Retro car printed my buyers guide, featuring my 2 21's in the pictures.... was quite pleased with that even if they did a bit of editing and padding lol

I really should upload it!
