swap for an M6 !!!

help,
I've just had a mad offer against my VEE (to include number plate V6 UFO), a straight swap for a 2006 BMW M6, silver, 16000 miles,
A year ago this car would have been £30000+, I know as I nearly bought an M5 before I decided to go for another VEE,
I can't get it out my head, I love my car, and I know the M6 will depreciate by the hour and the VEE will hold it's price,
but 500 BHP,7 speed flappy paddle box, head up display, and a BMW warranty is very tempting, and I've always had a soft spot for the M6.
I dont usually have a problem buying a car thats unusual or different , but my clio is the only car I've had that I'd be happy to keep, so would probably regret it if I sold it on,
I had a drive in the M6 and it's motorbike quick !!!
would it be crazy to swap ????

Yes mental, a year ago it was 30k+ you just summed it up! If it was THAT good he would nt be after your vee! PLUS every time you pull up at traffic lights you'll see another one pull up next to you. VEE LOOOOVE!!

yeah kepp the vee dude, you'd only wish you hadnt done the deal lol

And the vee will only go up in the future and the m6 would be worth well who knows in the future

I would say take the m6, enjoy it for a bit, sell it and then buy another v6 and pocket a few k.....

But your v6 is such a mint one, your unlikely to find another like it without a very long paitient wait, and even then you may never get such a good one again so it's a risky move if you love your car.

I had a long hard look at a M5/M6 option before I (sensibly) bought a E93 V6 diesel.
Have to say MIck that it didn't once enter my psyche that the M-Car was to be in lieu of my Vee...
...they are very accomplished but lack soul.

The fuel cost on the m6 it's really bad And as things stand now if it go's the same way as my M3 it will just lose so much money you will not be able to sell it when you feel the time has come to go back to a v

Have you had any real aspirations to own an M6 before??? If not then leave it! The current owner clearly thinks your car is better aswell.

yes I've always fancied an M5 or M6 Brett, and it would be a weekend driver , so fuel wouldn't be an issue,
but I've decided to take everyones advice and keep the VEE, who knows I may be able to have both when an M6 is £10000 next year ?
the sun is out today, I'm going to take the cover off my car get it out the garage and just enjoy it,

thanks for your comments

Interesting one, but I think you would know best, especially if yo have been hankering after an M6 for a while.

To me it is a no brainer - I would not do it, and that said, there would be absolutely no sense in swapping the Vee for a BMW, except perhaps for an E30 M3 Sport Evolution, 3.0 CSL or M1, or possibly an E46 M3 CSL.

cheers Dulan, I don't usually think too hard about changing cars, and if I fancy something I have a go,
looking back on my car history 1 year seems to be when I get bored and move to something else,
maybe the buzz of changing car ?
but your right , I'm sticking,

Mick

Your so right NOT doing it !!

I also had a thing for the M6 (they are so good / tough looking ) and that engine is gorgeous !! But a good mate of mine sat me down and made me see sense about the headache it would be to get rid of and how much the M6 would cost me over a short year !! That's just the financial cost ! Not the damage to your licence !!
Great car but not a great emotional buy !!

Nigel

Not enough character for a weekend toy.
Need a sence of occassion about your toys, I think an M6 would get dull fairly quickly.

Wouldn't knock it as a daily though.

I wouldn't say an m6 is dull?
I considered buying an m6 for use here in Moscow and the Vee for return trips to the uk.
Best of both worlds... (Fuel is cheaper here though)
