SWAP 350 z engine

Hi guys

I have an idea and occasion to buy a brandnew 350 z V6 engine with 313 HP.
My question is, if a swap is possible. this ( Nissan/renault) engine is very familiar to the 3.0 v6.

If someone of u cracks can say me if this projekt coud be done, i will go to search some specialist who can make that for me.

that woud be nice to have over 300 Hp and be still aspirated [smilie=icon_cheers.gif]

That's a very cool project!

Some further tuning on that and you could still possibly looking at over 350bhp without having to go super/turbo charged. :)

You wouldn't be able to use the Clio V6 gearbox actually I don't think?

I believe it cannot hack the extra torque that will come from that engine....

I would check the engine dimensions and weight before you procede any further just to ensure that the engine will physically fit in the engine bay and whether it needs to be re-positioned slightly. Also consider where all the ancillaries are located as these may also impact how easy it would be to transplant it i.e. alternator, power steering pump, air-con compressor etc. Maybe also engine orientation/rotation direction ...

I guess you would also have to consider, amongst other things ...

1. Modified engine and gearbox mountings
2. Gearbox options (the V6 box could probably be retained if you were to check bolt patterns or have a mating plate made up) ... But above comments about the capability of the V6 box are echoed in other threads also ...
3. Driveshafts ...
4. Plumbing ...
5. Engine control and wiring loom (if you use the 350z engine control and loom, consider how this will inter-operate with the vehicle loom and systems - OBDII/CAN etc. )
6. Engineers report and insurance and how your authorities would view the conversion. Friends I know in Switzerland have joked that you practically need documentation/authorisation to even fit an air filter to your car !!

Could be an interesting project, just a question of time, patience, R&D and overall cost ... Then just weigh this up with the costs to get a Vee engine to the same specs ...

i checked it about the engine dimensions.

No way to put it in the back of the Vee, to big to fit.

The height of the complete engine incusive gearbox ist mutch to high.

Will try to search another way to boost decently my Vee.
