Just doing a bit of research and costing, would this be the right wheel to fit onto a ph1 to replace the original?

Personally i think it might look a bit out off place. Its not from the right period.

Looks nice in a phase 2 interior, but cant see it fitting in with the phase one interior.

The steering wheel in the link would fit but there are a couple of things to note. It has cruise control buttons and the Ph1 does have CC so they wouldn't be functional. The second thing is that the airbag would be for show only as the connections are different between a Ph2 and a Ph1.

Thanks both, would you suggest then the best route to go is a recover? Or are there any other options that suit the car?

Eithe a retrim, or a replacement if you can find one (its the same as a 172 wheel).

I think the sabelt steering wheel suits a phase one as an alternative.

I'd be looking for one which is fitted to the Clio Rsi I think it was, as it is the same blue colour to match the dash but is full kid on leather and seems to last longer and still matches.

Thanks for the links, I think the Sabelt looks ace, just not sure about the loss of the airbag
