Standard stereo

Hi All

Some more advice needed I'm afraid!!

Today I drove the V (MK2) and when I turned the car off the stereo didn't go off. I have not changed anything - the only thing I can think of is I have accidently pressed something or a combination of somethings when I cleaned the dash etc!

Also the stereo gives a beep and then turns itself off after about 20 minutes.

Has anyone had either of these problems and know how to solve them?

Thanks.

I've read the radio manual and found out that when you turn the radio unit on with the ignition off the stereo will stay on for 20 minutes, then beep and then turn off.

This is exactly what mine is doing, but the question is why has it suddenly stopped going on and off with the ignition?

My car does this too. I think it happened when the previous owner had a few of the personal settings tweaked.

I'm tempted to try a dashboard reset, but I'm worried that the French electronics will do something stupid like stop my car from working! [smilie=icon_eek.gif]

Its a blinkin mystery!!

It happened at the same time my coil went so the only thing electrical that was done was disconnect the coil!!

What a pain in the @rse!!

Ive got a prob with my sterio, iam constantly getting cd error in the head unit.

But from the changer all is sweet all 6 slots work perfect.

any ideas ?

Hi guys, i have a ph1 and one of my work vans is a 05 renault traffic which is pretty much the same set up, im not quite sure but i think you can set the radio to turn of after 20minutes or should i say pushing one of the buttons makes it stay on for 20minutes, i`ll ask the driver 2mo.

Problem solved!!

Went to pump up the tyres with a cigarette lighter powered pump and nothing! Checked the manual and the stereo and cigarete lighter are on the same fuse! Didn't think the stereo would work at all if the fuse had gone so didn't even consider it.

New 15A fuse in F7 and all sorted!
