Spare key fob

Does anyone know the cheapest way to acquire a second key fob? I only have one.

Can you buy a blank off ebay and programme it or is it a main delaer jobbie?

cheers

Ive done many clio keys over the years, I had a small clio sales/repair business in the early 2000's. Ph1 & ph2 have different 'plips' the batteries are bigger in ph1's (approx old 5p size) and Ph2 are smaller (new 5p size). I brought used ones and had them programmed by an independent key/ecu specialist (an independent Ren specialist could also do). Ive also brought the key blades from ebay and had cut at a key shop for a few £'s.

The immobiliser/lock part can not be programmed at the key shop. Key part(supplied and blade cut) ive had done for £40 ish and then programmed for £30ish. So not cheep but cheeper than Renault dealer.

I recall not every used plip Ive had has re-programmed straight away, some have taken a couple of goes. So if in doubt get a new blank unused one!

Hope this helps anyone that needs a key?

Ian

A car locksmith should be able to help, most advertise as being able to provide the key, transponders and programming.I'd image they'd be cheaper than Renault .
